Happy 11th Birthday, Jayce

Dear Jayce,

Eleven years old! How are you already eleven. It seems like I was just rocking you in the NICU. Goodness, I would give anything to go back to that time just once. I wouldn’t want to stay there because I know it’s important for you to be able to grow up and learn to fly on your own.

But if God gave me one more day to snuggle your five pound body as a preemie, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity. It wouldn’t be hard to go back to that place of uncertainty because I now know the outcome. You are healthy, strong, and oh so very smart. He has brought us through many trials and tribulations with His strength.

He has allowed you to prosper in so many areas of your life. You have met adversity along the way, but you lean on Him to get you through any challenge that you face. You not only get through challenges but you shine while doing it.

I love you with all of my heart and am so grateful for the young man you are becoming. I always enjoy listening to all of your hunting and fishing stories. You know much more than most grown adults about the great outdoors. I truly believe the Lord placed that knowledge in you from birth. He knew you would spread the knowledge of His creation to others each and every day.

Thank you for loving me so well. Thank you for your patience and great big hugs. I won’t ever stop loving you. Don’t ever forget that. I will be here for you always.

Love you forever,

Mom

Genesis 21:20 – And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
