Dear Alayla,

What a special birthday you celebrated this year. You are now teenager – a big 13 years old. The years are flying by so quickly.

You have blossomed into a beautiful young lady both inside and out. You are a selfless person who is always willing to help others without the thought of return. I am so proud of you for that.

Strong is one word that describes you. I haven’t met many teenagers as strong as you are. You could easily let your medical issues defeat you, but you don’t. You have taken them in stride and rarely complain. Disappointment could have taken over, but what did you do instead? You pushed forward and came out stronger than ever. I’m looking forward to watching you get back out on the basketball court this year.

I love you so much sweet girl and hope you have a great 2025. I know you are going to go far in this life. Continue to put the Lord first, and He will show you great and mighty things.
