Dear Sweet Boys,
A year ago today, I did not anticipate adding two more little ones to our family, especially without warning. However, none of us in this home would change your sudden appearance for anything. We all fell in love with you instantly.

We have learned a lot since you scooted into our lives. We have learned that prayers are not always answered in our timing or how we expect. I will never forget praying for God’s will to be carried out in your lives even before your birth. I asked others to pray not only for you but for your mama as well.

Never in my life did it cross my mind that my prayer and many others’ prayers would be answered when I picked both of you up from the place you had called home since being released from the NICU. What I thought would only be a night or two has quickly turned into a year full of snuggles. Those snuggles led us to more of an understanding of what was needed to care for you properly.

The last year has been somewhat of a challenge due to many difficult obstacles that presented themselves, including health concerns. These concerns led to many doctor visits, therapy appointments, tests, surgery procedures, and specialist appointments. Thankfully, a great team of doctors and therapists locally and at UVA surround us and are the scaffolding needed to hold us up as the layers continue to be peeled away and each underlying issue is revealed and tackled.

God works in mysterious ways and knows much more than we do. We must trust in His plans because He holds the future. He has performed many miracles since the day of your conception and birth and throughout the first year of your lives. We have recently slid right into your second year.

We got to celebrate your 2nd birthday not once but twice. We had a party at our house and then another with your birth mama and siblings. It is evident that so many people love you and care about you. We will continue to love on both of you in significant ways as long as the Lord allows us to.

We are grateful for all the Lord has done and will continue to do as you grow more and more each day. We have dedicated both of your lives to the Creator. He silences our fears as we navigate through the unknowns. He reminds us that He loves you more than we ever could! We are thankful.
Love Always,
Mommy 💙
